Pastoral peers in the Clergy Recovery Network are available to you to answer questions about your life and recovery struggles and share the strength, hope and encouragement they have gained on their personal recovery journeys. They have been where you are. They have been there and done that.
These persons are volunteers aiding the ministry of CRN. They do not help clergy or their families fulltime but have hearts for fellow strugglers and want to see you make it through your difficulties with the support you need.
The anonymity of some of these peers is important to them personally so email is the best way for them to connect with you. They will share all they can to be helpful to you just like they were sitting in a room of recovering addicts committed to maintaining anonymity and confidentiality. Each of these persons is personally known to Dale Wolery, the Founder of CRN or has sufficiently interacted with Dale W. to cause him to believe you can be encouraged by interacting with them. Some will tell you everything about themselves while others will choose to maintain appropriate anonymity. Please respect their time, their hearts and their privacy. Some may invite you to call them on the phone. Others will not allow this. Allow them to guide you regarding the level of relationship they choose to have with you. Their limits should be graciously respected by you.
These recovering peers come from a variety of theological backgrounds but are united by the pain of shared recovery journeys. They have been where you are. They know the painful legacy of dysfunction and the powerful freedom of telling their truth and sharing gracefully with others. They know how “failure” hurts and they know how it also builds our lives and spirituality. They will tell you their truth and will gracefully guide you. You are invited to share your pain, your questions, and your fear.
Please know we really want to be helpful but must also protect CRN and its volunteers from frivolous inquiries and potential legal issues. If you are a sincere and seeking ministry professional or spouse you can find help here.
